Zemís are the gods and spirits venerated by the Taínos, indigenous people of the Caribbean. For centuries, the myth of Taíno extinction has kept Puerto Ricans and other Caribbean peoples from connecting with our ancestors and indigenous roots. Un Hogar de Zemís honors the lasting legacy and impact of the Taínos, connecting their history and spirit to the struggles of Puerto Ricans today. Un Hogar de Zemís celebrates and venerates our ancestors in all their forms.
